It’s that time of the year again where we are encouraged to do a spring clean of our homes. Whilst it may be a chore, the benefits of giving your home a complete cleaning overhaul outweighs the work it takes. Furthermore, keeping a hygienic bathroom can also prolong the lifespan of your suite. Here at Bathroom Studio Design, we have put together our bathroom spring cleaning checklist.
Start with a Blank Canvas
Empty the room completely of everything that can be removed. This includes shower curtains, bathmats, window curtains and or blinds. Clean or launder each item in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure each item is thoroughly dry before returning them to the bathroom to avoid mould.
From Floor to Ceiling
Now you have cleared the bathroom you can see all surfaces and consequently all the hidden dirt. Using your preferred bathroom cleaner, wipe down all surfaces to remove the dust and dirt. We recommend using a hoover attachment to run around the ceiling and corners for dust and cobwebs. It is also advisable to vacuum your ventilation fans and wipe them down with antibacterial spray.
Tip Top Tiles
When mould builds up in the tile grout, it looks unsightly and sometimes stubborn to remove. We suggest using a steam cleaner to clean your ceramic tiles. The steam cuts through the mould and residue without the need for harsh chemicals. Therefore, allowing you to simply wipe down with ease after.
Scrub That Tub!
A quality bathroom suite should be very easy to clean and require little scrubbing on your part. However, if you find that the grime is clinging to your tub, it may be time to consider upgrading your bathroom. Cheaper suites are made from cheaper materials, as such the finish is not the same.
