Bathrooms come in all shapes and sizes. Some people are lucky enough to have a large area which offers unrestricted design opportunities. Others, however, need to be a little savvier when it comes to designing small bathrooms. If you are working with limited floor space in your bathroom, we have put some hints and tips below which may help.
Keep it Clutter Free!
When working with a small bathroom it’s important to keep the area as clutter free as possible. Utilise the space you have with innovative storage options for all your toiletries, towels, and such like. Having everything neatly tidied away will give the illusion of more space in your bathroom. Float into More Floor Space
Floating bathroom furniture is perfect for smaller bathroom designs. This is because it takes up no floor space and therefore making the room seem bigger and less cluttered.
Smoke and Mirrors
Well maybe not smoke, but mirrors are a great way to open the space to make a room feel bigger. Some people opt for a mirrored wall which can make your bathroom appear twice as big as it is. However, large wall hung mirrors are also as effective. Not only do mirrors offer the illusion of more space, but they are also a practical bathroom essential.
Slide into more space.
Sliding doors are ideal for saving space in the bathroom. An average size door needs approximately 3ft floor space to open fully. Whilst this doesn’t sound like much, it can be a big restriction to those designing small bathrooms. Installing a sliding door means that it would not require a 3ft space to open. Therefore, giving you more freedom when considering the placement of your fixtures and fittings.
